[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 4월 6일, 안동광 의정부시 부시장은 ‘2022 경기도 기능경기대회’가 열리고 있는 의정부공업고등학교를 찾아 경기를 참관하고 선수들에게 선전을 당부했다고 전했다.

매년 개최되는 경기도 기능경기대회는 우수 숙련기능인들을 발굴해 사기를 진작시키고 지역 내 기술·기능 개발을 촉진해 21세기 미래 4차 산업을 이끌 인적자원 개발을 목표로 입상 선수는 오는 9월 개최되는 전국대회 출전 자격이 부여된다고 했다.

이번 대회는 의정부시(의정부공고, 경민IT고), 파주시(세경고), 시흥시(한국조리과학고등학교), 수원시(삼일공업고등학교), 안양시(안양공업고등학교) 등 5개 시 6개교에서 지난 4월 4일부터 오는 8일까지 5일간 계속되며 총 53개 직종에 575명의 선수들이 참가해 기량을 겨룬다고 전했다.
