최근 전국적으로 가족해체, 경제난으로 인해 1인 가구 비율이 꾸준히 증가하여 사회적 고립으로 인한 고독사 등 사회적 문제 발생 우려가 큰 상황으로, 복지사각지대 발굴의 일환으로 고위험군 상시 발굴체계 강화 방안과 이들에 대한 시와 동주민센터의 맞춤형 서비스 지원의 필요성이 높아지고 있다고 했다.

이에 의정부시는 사회적 고립가구 상시 발굴체계를 강화하기 위하여 취약계층 1인 가구를 대상으로 고독사 위험군 추가 발굴을 진행하고 카카오톡 채널을 통한 위기가구 신고체계를 확대 구축할 예정이며, 또한, 맞춤형 서비스 지원을 위하여 취약계층 중장년 독거가구에 대한 지원사업을 신규로 진행하고 안심콜 서비스를 의정부 전지역으로 확대하여 사회적 고립 고위험 1인 가구에게 정기적 안부 확인과 정서적 지원을 할 계획이라고 했다. 

여성가족과에서 1인 가구의 욕구를 반영한 사회관계망 구축·식생활 및 건강관리를 위한 맞춤형 프로그램을 신규로 진행 중에 있으며, 노인장애인과에서는 노인맞춤형 돌봄서비스와 응급안전안심서비스 등을 통해 욕구에 따른 통합 맞춤형 서비스를 진행 중이라고 말했다. 

또한 신규로 복지기관과 협력하여 고독사 예방 특화사업을 공모 운영할 계획이며, 동 지역사회보장협의체와 명예사회복지공무원 등 지역의 인적자원을 활용한 동별 특화사업을 통해 다양하고 세심하게 고독사 예방 관련 사업을 추진 중에 있다고 했다.
