[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 화천군을 비롯해 양구군, 인제군 등 도내 3개 접경지역 지자체와 강원대학교가 강원 네트워크 캠퍼스 사업을 공동으로 추진한다고 밝혔다.

대학교가 없는 화천지역에서 주민들이 도내 대학의 전문적인 교육프로그램에 참여할 수 있는 길이 열린다고 했다. 

‘지역인재 양성을 위한 네트워크 캠퍼스 구축사업’은 강원도 지역균형발전 공모사업으로, 대학이 없는 지역에 캠퍼스를 구축하는 것이 골자이며, 주민은 물론 지역 출신 대학생들의 취·창업에 실질적 도움이 되는 수준 높은 교육을 제공하고, 지역사회 취업까지 연계해 그 지역에서 자리를 잡을 수 있도록 돕는 것이 목적이라고 전했다. 

주관대학인 강원대는 화천군과 함께 공공기관과 기업 등이 참여하는 지역인재협의체를 구성해 운영하고, 주민들의 수요에 맞는 맞춤형 교육과정을 운영할 예정이라고 했다.

강원 네트워크 캠퍼스는 지역주민과 지역인재로 교육대상을 구분해 운영되며, 화천군민과 지역출신 대학생들은 등록금이 전액 무료이고, 주민 대상으로 진행되는 비교과 과정은 지난 1월17일부터 1학기 과정인 ‘교육종사자 역량강화교육’이 시작됐고, 2학기 수요조사 결과에 따라 신규과정이 개설된다고 전했다. 

주민들을 위한 교과 과정은 오는 3월2일부터 1학기 ‘창업실무’과정이 시작되며, 2학기에는 ‘조경 어메니티’ 과정이 개강한다고 밝혔다. 

지역출신 대학생 대상으로는 강원대가 지역산학협력학과를 개설해 올해 1학기부터 운영에 나선며, 강원 네트워크 캠퍼스는 향후 도내 대학들과의 지속적인 협의를 통해 참여 대학을 늘려 나간다는 계획이라고 전했다. 

최문순 화천군수는 “주민들과 지역인재들이 실질적으로 원하는 분야에서 수준 높은 교육이 이뤄질 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
