하지만 한국사회복지협의회 보증금 지원 사업 대상자로 선정되면서 넓고 안전한 주거지로 이사하게 되었으며, 자원봉사단체의 도움으로 도배·장판 및 싱크대 설치 등 더욱 깨끗한 환경에서 편안하고 쾌적하게 생활할 수 있도록 보금자리를 조성했다고 전했다.

배영관 포천동장은 “많은 사람의 관심과 참여 덕분에 어르신의 주거지가 더 쾌적해지고 안전해질 수 있게 되었다.”라며 “앞으로도 복지사각지대에 놓인 주민을 적극 발굴하여 안정적인 삶을 영유할 수 있도록 돕겠다.”라고 말했다.
