주거환경개선사업은 포천동 지역사회보장협의체 자체사업으로, 집 안 청소와 주방 단열, 도배·조명 교체, 미세 방충망 설치 등을 진행했다고 전했다.

주거환경을 지원받은 어르신은 “지인들이 마실 오면 늘 창피하고 숨기고 싶은 공간이, 이제는 가장 깨끗하고 안락한 공간이 되었다.”며 “한층 깨끗하고 쾌적한 환경을 조성해주어 감사하다.”고 말했다.

배영관 포천동장은 “많은 사람의 관심과 참여 덕분에 어르신의 주거지가 더 쾌적해지고 안전해졌다. 앞으로도 복지사각지대에 놓인 주민을 적극 발굴하여 안전한 삶을 영유할 수 있도록 돕겠다.”고 말했다.
