[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강원경찰청 고속도로순찰대 7지구대에서는 해빙기를 맞아 겨울철 얼어있던 지면의 침하·변경으로 낙석·토사유출로 인한 교통사고 우려와 겨울철 염화물 사용과 제설작업으로 훼손된 교통시설 사전점검을 통해 봄철 야외활동 증가를 대비하여 안전한 도로환경 조성을 위해 노력하기로 했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 점검은 3월 7일부터 2주간에 걸쳐 터널 입·출구부, 도로변 비탈면의 낙석 방지시설 설치구간 등 낙석 및 토사유출이 우려되는 구간(207개소)을 중점적으로 점검할 예정이며, 한국도로공사 강원본부와 협조하여 점검결과에 따라 훼손된 시설물이나 낙석 위험구간에 대한 시설물을 보강하기로 했다고 전했다.

아울러, 해빙기에 접어들면서 고속도로 공사구간이 점차 증가함에 따라 공사현장 점검도 함께 병행할 예정이라고 전했다.

강원경찰청 고속도로순찰대 관계자는 “앞으로 해빙기 낙석 위험요인 점검 외에도, 점차 증가하고 있는 고속도로 공사구간에 대한 철저한 안전관리를 통한 교통사고 예방활동으로 국민들이 안전하게 고속도로를 이용할 수 있도록 계속 노력 하겠다” 고 말했다.
