[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강원도 자치경찰위원회·강원경찰청은 자치단체, 교육청, 교통안전공단 등과 함께 오는 21일부터 10월 31일까지 하반기 ‘어린이통학버스 합동점검’을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

점검 사항은 통학버스 신고 및 종합보험 가입 여부, 운영자·운전자·동승보호자 안전교육 이수 여부, 운행기록일지 작성 여부, 자동차안전기준(좌석안전띠, 하차확인장치, 가시광선투과율 70% 이상 등) 적합 여부 등으로 위반 행위에 대하여는 현장 계도 하거나 시정·정비명령, 과태료 부과 등 행정처분할 예정이다.

더불어‘통학버스 특별보호 위반행위＊’에 대한 계도·단속도 펼쳐 ‘어린이 안전이 먼저’인 교통문화 정착에 힘쓸 예정이다.

＊<어린이통학버스의 특별보호> 도로교통법 제51조는 어린이 승하차를 위해 통학버스가 정차한 차로와 그 차로의 바로 옆 차로로 통행하는 차의 운전자는 일시정지하여 안전을 확인 후 서행, 모든 차의 운전자는 어린이 보호표시를 한 상태로 도로를 통행하는 통학버스를 앞지르기 못한다는 등의 특별보호 의무를 규정하고 있다.
