[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 19일 포천시는 경복대학교 등 5개 유관기관과 고등직업교육거점지구사업 추진을 위한 업무협약식을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 

이 사업은 인구감소, 지방소멸 대응을 위해 전문대학과 기초지자체가 협력해 지역특화분야를 선정하고 지역 정주인재를 양성하기 위한 교육부 공모사업이고, 포천시와 경복대학교가 컨소시엄으로 참여할 계획이며, 2022년부터 2025년까지 약 45억 원이 투입될 예정이라고 했다. 

포천시와 포천시의회, 경복대학교, 포천교육지원청, 포천상공회의소 등 5개 기관이 참여해 사업추진을 위한 거버넌스(고등직업교육혁신위원회)를 구축하고, 지역특화분야 선정 및 학사조직 개편을 통한 인재양성, 지역 내 현안해결 프로그램 수행 등 상호 협력하기로 했다고 전했다. 

박윤국 포천시장은 “지방소멸 등 위기 상황에 선제적으로 대처하기 위해 전문대학과 지자체간 협력이 중요하다. 지역에 특화된 ‘포천형 인재양성’뿐만 아니라 ‘관내 기업으로의 취업·정착’으로 연계해야 한다. 이 사업을 계기로 지역경제 활성화와 정주여건을 마련할 수 있을것으로 기대된다.“고 말했다.
