[김택곤 기자=영월군] 영월군은 19일 반려동물 동반 여행전문사 ㈜펫츠고트래블과 반려동물 동반 여행 활성화를 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.

반려동물을 가족처럼 여기고 기르는 펫팸족의 증가로 반려동물 관련 산업이 계속해서 성장세를 보이고 있으며, 반려동물 동반 여행 수요 역시 꾸준히 증가하고 있어 영월군은 이에 부응하고자 이번 협약식을 마련했다.

양 기관은 이날 오후 영월군청 소회의실에서 진행된 업무협약(MOU) 체결식을 통해 반려동물 동반 여행 프로그램 개발 및 운영, 반려동물 동반 특화 관광지 발굴 및 개발 협력 등에 관한 사항을 협력했다.

영월군과 업무협약을 체결한 ㈜펫츠고트래블은 반려동물 동반 전문 여행사로 반려견 전세기·크루즈·열차, 반려견 동반 캠핑, 반려견 동반 페스티벌 등 반려견과 함께하는 여행상품을 개발·운영 중이다.

최명서 영월군수는 이번 협약을 통해 1,400만 반려인구 관광객유치뿐만 아니라 반려인, 비반려인이 함께 안전하고 행복하게 여행할 수 있도록 올바른 반려동물 동반 여행 문화 형성을 위해 더욱 노력할 것 이라고 말했다.
