[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 21일 11시 강릉시는 강릉시청 8층 시민사랑방에서 유휴국유지를 활용하 ‘강릉지역 발달장애인 케어팜(치유농장)운영 활성화를 위한 업무협약식’을 가진다고 밝혔다. 

케어팜 사업은 한국자산관리공사 강원지역본부, 사회복지법인 천주교춘천교구 사회복지회 애지람, 한국농수산식품유통공사 강원지역본부, 한살림 강원영동 5개 협력기관이 참여한다고 했다.

케어팜사업은 발달장애인이 농장 체험활동을 통해 신체적, 정신적, 사회적으로 건강을 회복할 수 있도록 돕기 위한 농장으로, 구정면 여찬리(1,100㎡ 규모)에 유휴 국유지를 활용하여 조성된다고 했다.

이는 사회적 가치 구현을 위한 한국자산관리공사의 국민공모사업으로 강원도 내 처음으로 강릉시가 한국자산관리공사 강원지역본부 등 협력기관과 공동으로 추진한다고 했다. 

강릉시는 내년부터 본격적으로 농작물 경작을 위한 행정절차를 마치고, 사업부지 정비, 장애인 편의시설 설치, 농작물을 경작하여 관내 발달장애인을 위한 농장체험 등 각종 프로그램을 운영할 계획이며, 또한, 생산된 농작물 판매수익금 등으로 장애인 일자리 창출을 목표로 하고 있다고 전했다. 

강릉시 관계자는“케어팜 운영을 통해 지역 내 발달장애인 돌봄에 대한 새로운 대안을 제시하고, 자연속에서 다양한 활동으로 심리적안정, 사회성을 향상시키는데 도움이 될것이라고 기대된다”고 말했다.
