[남상훈 기자 = 원주] 원주지방환경청이 2022년 비상대비 및 민방위 활동 진흥 유공 분야에서 중앙행정기관 중 유일하게 대통령 기관 표창을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

원주지방환경청은 지난해 행정안전부 주관한 민방위 점검에서 좋은 성적을 받아 최우수 기관으로 선정돼, 중앙행정기관 중 유일하게 대통령 표창을 받는 영예를 누렸다.

원주환경청은 그동안 기관장이 직접 현장 점검을 실시하는 등 비상 상황 발생 시 신속하게 대처할 수 있도록 항시 준비했다. 이와 더불어 민방위 편성, 자원관리, 교육훈련, 화생방 장비 확보 등을 체계적으로 관리해 상시 발생할 수 있는 비상 상황에 대비해왔다.

김정환 원주지방환경청장은 “이번 수상에 만족하지 않고, 언제든지 발생 할 수 있는 비상 상황 대비를 철저히 하여 화학물질 유출, 수질오염사고 등 환경재난으로부터 국민의 생명과 재산을 지키는데 더욱 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
