[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 6일 의정부시는 한국배구연맹에서 배구발전기금 3천948만2천 원을 기부했다고 밝혔다.

전달식은 안병용 의정부시장, 한국배구연맹 신무철 사무총장, 의정부시체육회 이명철 회장, 의정부시배구협회 홍성칠 회장이 참석한 가운데 오랜만에 경기장을 찾은 배구 팬들과 함께 기념하기 위하여 KB스타즈 배구단 홈 경기 현장에서 진행됐다고 했다.

기부금은 지난 8월 개최한 2021 의정부·도드람컵 프로배구대회 유치 협약에 따른 배구발전기금으로 의정부 배구전용연습장 건립 관련 부대비용으로 사용될 예정이라고 했다.

신무철 한국배구연맹 사무총장은 “배구 저변확대와 발전을 위한 노력과 관심을 아끼지 않는 의정부시에 늘 감사하다.”라고 말했다.

안병용 의정부시장은 “2021 의정부·도드람컵 프로배구대회 열기를 이은 V-리그에서 팬들과 함께 뜻깊은 배구발전기금 전달식을 가져 기쁘다.”며 “배구전용경기장 건립 사업을 차질없이 추진하여 의정부시가 배구도시로 도약할 수 있도록 만전을 기하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
