동두천지역발전협의회는 관내 어려운 이웃들을 위해 후원 및 장학금 전달, 주거취약계층 방역과 물품지원 등을 꾸준히 실시하고 있는 봉사단체로, 업무협약 이후 매주 1회 복지사각지대 가구를 방문하여 물품을 전달하고 주변 어려운 이웃 발굴을 위해 봉사하고 있다고 했다. 

김지일 불현동장은 “힘든 시기에도 꾸준히 봉사를 실천하고 계시는 동두천지역발전협의회에 감사드리며 민관협력으로 지속적인 복지사각지대 대상자 발굴과 지원에 노력을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
