[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 2일 동두천시 무한돌봄센터는 관내 편의점과 연계하여 생활고에 놓인 복지사각지대를 발굴중이라고 밝혔다. 

시에 따르면 경제적 어려움으로 결식의 우려가 있거나 총체적인 위기에 직면한 저소득가정을 편의점을 통해 발굴하기 위한 것으로, 긴밀한 연계·협력체계 구축에 필요한 활동과 협의를 상시적으로 추진하고 있다고 했다. 

2021년 7월말에도 송내동과 상패동에 소재한 편의점 3개소에 방문하여 무한돌봄센터 전화번호 스티커를 배부하고 어려움을 호소하거나 위기상황이 의심되는 시민들에 대한 적극적인 제보를 요청한 바 있다고 했다. 

무한돌봄센터 관계자는 “복지사각지대 발굴은 민간의 관심이 절대적으로 중요한 만큼 편의점을 비롯하여 시민들의 일상생활과 밀접하게 관련 있는 기관을 대상으로 폭넓은 활동을 추진할 계획이다”라고 전했다.
