[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 동두천시는 지방재정 확충과 체납액 일소를 위해 자동차세 및 자동차 관련 과태료 체납차량에 대해 오는 9월 1일 경기도 내 31개 시·군 합동으로 ‘체납차량 일제단속의 날’을 운영한다고 밝혔다.

번호판 영치 대상은 관내 자동차세 3회 이상(전국 5회 이상) 체납차량 및 자동차 관련 과태료 30만원 이상(전국 100만원 이상) 체납차량이다.

번호판이 영치된 차량의 소유주는 신분증을 지참하고 동두천시청 세무과에 방문하여 체납세금 납부 확인 후 번호판을 반환받을 수 있다. 

체납된 세금은 전국 어디서나 은행 ATM기기를 이용하여 고지서 없이 현금 및 신용카드로 납부 가능하며, 납세자 본인의 가상 계좌번호를 확인하여 계좌이체도 가능하다.

동두천시는 지난 1월부터 7월 말까지 49대의 번호판을 영치해 19,990천원을 징수했으며, 향후 체납차량에 대한 영치 단속을 지속적으로 실시할 예정이다.

박형덕 동두천시장은 “상습 체납차량에 대해 지속적인 번호판 영치 단속을 추진하여 성실한 납세 분위기를 조성하겠다”고 밝혔다.
