[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 의정부시 징수과는 오는 6월 말까지 세외수입 과태료 체납액을 줄이고 성실한 납부 분위기 조성을 위해 세외수입 과태료 체납차량 등록번호판 집중 영치를 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이번 집중 영치 대상자는 차량검사지연·자동차손해배상 보장법위반 등 차량 관련 과태료가 체납발생일로부터 60일 이상, 체납 합계액이 30만 원 이상 체납한 차량의 소유자로 본래 과태료에 가산금 및 중가산금을 포함한 체납금액을 말한다.

집중 영치 기간 동안 영치시스템이 탑재된 차량이 아파트 단지, 주택가, 주차장 등 다중 밀집지역을 구석구석 돌며 체납차량을 선별해 단속을 진행할 계획이라고 했다.

체납자가 영치된 차량 등록번호판을 회수하려면 의정부시청 징수과를 직접 방문해야 하며, 체납액을 납부하고 번호판을 되찾을 수 있다. 

다만, 코로나19 등에 따른 생계형 체납자의 경우에는 일부 납부와 지속적인 분할납부 이행 약정을 하면 반환받을 수 있다고 했다.

서명학 징수과장은 “계속된 코로나19로 어려운 시기이지만 건전한 납부 의식이 정착될 수 있도록 차량 등록번호판 영치를 집중 실시할 계획이니, 체납자는 번호판 영치로 인한 차량 운행 제한 등 각종 생활상의 불편을 겪지 않도록 자발적으로 체납액을 확인하고 납부해 달라”고 거듭 당부했다.
