[장선희기자 = 경기북부/강원] 양주도시공사는 지난 19일, 양주시장애인종합복지관과의 업무협약을 진행했다고 밝혔다. 

사회적약자의 복지 증진과 사회적 책임 실현을 위한 지역사회 협업체계 구축의 일환 업무협약을 진행했다.

이날 업무협약식은 양주도시공사 이재호 사장, 양주시장애인종합복지관 김정희 관장이 참석한 가운데, 장애인 인식개선과 복지발전 등에 대한 협업 사업에 관한 차담회 형식으로 진행되었다고 했다.

특히 이번 협약식에서는, 장애인 화재예방 및 교육을 위하여, 발달장애 화가들의 미술 작품이 담긴 소화기 기증을 함께 진행하여, 장애인 안전사고 예방 및 발달장애인에 대한 지원이 더해져 그 의미를 더하였다고 했다. 

주요 협약사항은 '장애인 복지사각지대 발굴 및 해소', '장애인 인식개선 행사 개최 및 적극 협조', '지역사회복지 및 장애인복지발전'을 위한 활동의 장 마련 및 적극 홍보‧협력 등이며, 협약 체결일로부터 2년 간 유효하다고 했다. 

이재호 사장은 “양주시 개발에 따른 인구유입으로 장애를 가진 시민 또한 증가하고 있다.”라며, “앞으로 업무협약을 통한 협업사업 개발 및 협력으로 장애인 인식 개선 및 복지 증진에 최선을 다하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
