[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 4월 20일 양주도시공사는 ‘제42회 장애인의 날’을 맞이하여 교통약자이동지원 차량을 무료로 운행한다고 밝혔다. 

교통약자이동지원 차량 무료이용 대상은 양주시 교통약자이동지원 시스템에 등록된 회원‘보행상 장애가 있는 사람’또는 만 65세 이상‘대중교통 이용이 어려운 사람’으로 병원 진단서를 소지한 사람, 임산부(병원진료)는 누구나 무료로 이용할 수 있다고 했다.

무료 운행은 오는 4월 20일 7시부터 23시까지이며, 운행지역은 양주시 관내, 경기 북부지역, 서울시(병원 진료에 한함) 등 기존과 동일하게 운행한다고 전했다.

무료 이용을 희망하는 분은 오는 4월 18일 09시부터 공사 교통약자이동지원 콜센터와 모바일 앱으로 예약이 가능하며, 고객이 원하는 시간에 차량을 이용할 수 있는‘예약콜’과 당일 예약하여 이용이 가능한‘즉시콜’이 있다고 했다.

이재호 양주도시공사 사장은“양주시에 거주하는 대중교통 이용이 어려운 교통약자 분들께 이동편의 서비스를 확대 제공하기 위하여 지속적인 특별교통수단 운영 등 다양한 서비스 제공방안을 모색하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
