[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 12월 30일 안병용 의정부시장은 의정부농협으로부터 농민들의 삶의 질 향상에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 감사패를 받았다고 밝혔다.

의정부시는 농·축·임업에 종사하는 농민들에게 의정부시 농민기본소득 지원 조례를 제정해 행정·재정적 지원 근거를 마련했으며, 2022년부터 농민기본소득을 통해 분기별 15만 원씩 연 60만 원을 의정부시 지역화폐로 지급함으로써 농민들의 최소한의 삶을 영위하도록 돕고 있다고 했다.

안병용 의정부시장은 “코로나19로 인하여 힘든 시기를 보내고 있는 농민들에게 기본적인 생존권을 보호하고 도시와 농촌 간의 소득불균형의 격차를 해소하고 새로운 첨단농법을 도입하기 위하여 농민기본소득을 매년 지급함으로써 농민들의 삶의 질 향상을 위하여 최선을 다하겠다”라고 밝혔다.
