[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 11월 15일부터 19일까지 포천시는 농민기본소득 지원금 신청접수가 완료됨에 따라 위원회 검증과 선정 절차를 거쳐 농민기본소득을 지급한다고 밝혔다.

지난 7월부터 9월까지 11,342명이 농민기본소득을 신청했고, 현재는 지역별로 농민기본소득 마을위원회, 읍면동위원회, 시위원회 등을 구성해 단계별 검증, 선정 절차를 진행하고 있으며, 이 절차가 끝나는 대로 올 10월부터 12월까지 3개월분(월5만원, 15만원)을 지역화폐카드로 일괄 지급할 예정이라고 전했다.

포천시 관계자는 “농민기본소득은 농민의 기본권 보장과 소득 불평등 해소 등 농업의 공익적 가치에 대한 보상과 지속 가능한 발전을 위해 시행하는 제도다.”라며 “전국 최초로 시범 운영되는 만큼 차질 없이 지급될 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”라고 말했다. 

한편, 농민기본소득 지원사업은 포천시를 비롯한 경기도 내 6개 시군을 대상으로 시범 운영하는 사업으로, 내년부터는 경기도 내 17개 시군으로 확대해 년간 1인당 60만원(월 5만원, 분기별 15만원)을 지급할 계획이라고 밝혔다.
