[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 포천시청소년교육문화센터 청소년방과후아카데미는 청소년들에게 장애인과 비장애인의 차이를 이해하고 함께하는 사회를 만들어가는 인재를 키우고자 ‘그림책방-여섯손가락 독서’ 프로그램을 연중 활동으로 진행했다고 밝혔다.

경기도와 포천시의 지원으로 실시한 이번 인성함양 프로그램은 시각장애인들이 여섯 손가락으로 점자를 읽는 데에 도움을 주고자 촉각 동화책 만들기, 촉각 생활교육카드, 촉각 단어카드, 점자 벽보 만들기 등을 진행했고, 또한 다양한 교구를 친환경소재로 제작해 포천시립도서관, 경기도시각장애인연합회 포천시지회, 시각장애인 전문 도움기관인 체인지메이커 등에 기증하며 많은 시각장애인들에게 활용될 수 있도록 배포했다고 했다.

프로그램에 참여한 한 청소년은 “이번 활동을 통해 시각장애인을 이해하는 데 큰 도움이 되었다.”라고 소감을 말했다.

센터 관계자는 “앞으로도 청소년들의 인성 함양을 위해 다양한 활동을 실시하고 청소년들이 바른 몸과 마음으로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다.”라고 전했다.

한편 포천시청소년방과후아카데미는 청소년들이 가정이나 학교에서 체험하지 못했던 다양한 활동 프로그램을 제공하고 교과학습 및 전반적인 생활관리를 운영하면서 청소년들의 건강한 성장을 지원하고 있다고 밝혔다.
