[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 오는 12월 21일 (재)의정부시평생학습원은 보편적 평생학습도시 구축을 위한 장애인과 비장애인의 균형적인 평생학습 발전방향을 모색하기 위해 2021 의정부시 평생학습 포럼을 평생학습원 대강당에서 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 포럼은 ‘시민과 함께하는 장애인 평생학습도시 만들기’라는 주제 발표를 시작으로 장애인 평생학습도시 활성화 및 통합 교육 방안에 대한 각 분야 전문가들의 토론으로 이어질 예정이라고 했다. 

의정부시는 지난 1월 경기도형 발달장애인 평생교육센터로 지정됐으며, 3월에는 교육부로부터 장애인 평생학습도시로 선정되어 장애인 평생교육 문화확산을 위한 장애 유형별 프로그램을 개발·운영하고 있다고 전했다.

이번 행사는 COVID-19 방역수칙에 따라 참여 인원을 제한하고, 직접 참여하지 못하는 시민들을 위해 의정부시평생학습원 공식 유튜브 채널을 통해 실시간으로 중계할 예정이라고 했다.

송원찬 원장은 “이번 포럼을 통해 도출된 의견들을 사업에 적극 반영하여 장애인과 비장애인이 더불어 성장할 수 있는 지속가능한 평생학습도시가 될 수 있도록 노력을 기울이겠다”고 말했다.
