[서종협 기자 = 평창군] 평창군 봉평면 새마을부녀회(회장 박경주)는 회원들과 함께 3월 20일(월) 주거환경이 열악한 장애인 가정에 방문하여 청소 봉사활동을 펼쳤다고 전했다.

이날 봉사활동은 2023년 평창군 자원봉사 릴레이의 첫 활동으로 봉평면 새마을부녀회는 장시간 방치되어 있었던 집주변 쓰레기 수거와 집 안 청소 등 이른 아침부터 구슬땀 흘리며 집안 곳곳을 깨끗하게 정리하였다.

봉평면 새마을부녀회는 매주 화요일마다 끼니를 거를 우려가 있는 어르신들에게 식사 봉사를 진행하고 있으며, 올 초 농약병 수거 및 분류작업 수익금으로 사랑의 꾸러미를 제작하여 홀로 어르신 가정에 전달하는 등 봉평면의 촘촘한 사회복지 안전망 구축에 큰 역할을 하고 있어 지역사회에 선한 영향력을 행사하고 있다.

박경주 새마을부녀회장은 “좀 더 깨끗한 환경에서 생활할 수 있게 도움을 드려 기쁘게 생각하며 앞으로도 지역 내 소외계층을 위한 다양한 사업을 펼쳐 나가겠다.”라고 말했다.

한편 봉평면사무소는 해당 가정의 폐기물 수거와 목욕 서비스를 지원하였으며 지속적인 사례관리와 서비스를 연계해 나갈 계획이라고 밝혔다.
