[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 가평군은 자동차의 안전운행을 방해하거나 위험을 초래할 수 있는 불법 튜닝 자동차에 대해 2022년 11월 중에 하반기 집중단속을 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이번 단속은 가평경찰서, 한국교통안전공단 경기북부본부와 함께 진행하며, 단속대상은 자동차 등화장치 임의 설치, 화물자동차 적재장치 변경 등 튜닝 승인을 받지 않고 자동차의 구조 및 장치를 임의로 변경한 사안 등이다.

특히, 최근 판스프링이 낙하해 후행차량을 관통하며 치명적인 인명사고로 이어지는 화물자동차의 판스프링 지지대 불법 설치 행위와 이륜자동차의 소음방지장치 임의 변경 등을 집중 단속 할 예정이다.

평군은 불법 구조변경 차량은 도로 위에서 운전자 본인뿐만 아니라 다른 차량의 안전에도 심각한 위험을 초래하며 치명적인 교통사고 발생의 원인이 되므로 불법사항에 대한 원상복구 및 임시검사 명령, 과태료를 부과함은 물론 중대한 불법 튜닝 사안에 대해서 형사고발도 실시 할 예정이다.

이에 앞서 가평군 교통과는 지난 4월과 8월에 유관기관 합동단속으로 각각 불법튜닝 이륜자동차 7건, 안전기준 위반 및 불법튜닝 자동차 5건등 총 12건을 적발 조치하며 운전자들에게 자동차안전관리에 대한 경각심을 촉구한 바 있다.
