[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 2월 14일부터 3월 6일까지 3주간 강원경찰청 고속도로순찰대 7지구대는 불법튜닝 자동차로부터 고속도로 교통안전 확보를 위해 도내 전 고속도로에서 등화장치·소음방지장치 등 자동차의 구조·장치의 임의변경(불법튜닝) 및 안전기준 위반 자동차에 대해 단속을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

특히, 자동차의 등화장치·소음기를 기준에 맞지 않게 임의로 변경하거나 화물차의 적재용량을 증대시킬 목적의 적재함 불법 구조변경 여부 등을 집중적으로 점검 및 단속했고, 정비불량 화물차량에 대해서 정비명령서를 발부하여 정비·개선토록 하는 한편, 암행순찰차 투입하여 과속 등 고위험 행위에 대해서도 단속을 병행했다고 했다.

단속된 불법튜닝 차량에 대해서는 형사입건* 또는 신속한 원상복구를 위해 관할 지자체에 임시검사** 통보를 했다고 전했다.
