[남상훈 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 22일 백영현 포천시장은 ‘2022년 포천시 청소년 지역활력 토론회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

토론회는 포천시 미래사회의 주축이 될 청소년이 생각하는 포천시 지역활력 방안을 알아보고 정주하고 싶은 포천을 만들기 위해 진행했으며 지난 8월 22일부터 9월 8일까지 토론회 신청을 받아 관내 고등학교 5개 팀을 선발했으며, 백영현 포천시장을 비롯해 인구정책위원회 및 관련 사업부서 팀장 등 총 40여 명이 참석했다.

이번 토론회는 포천시 홍보대사 개그우먼 김민희의 사회로, 자유로운 분위기에서 청소년들의 진솔한 이야기를 이끌어내는 발표 및 토크 형식으로 진행했으며 ‘청소년이 생각하는 포천시의 지역활력 방안’이라는 주제로 ▲포천에 살고있는 / 살고싶은 이유는? ▲청소년이 바라본 포천은? ▲내가 시장이라면 인구정책(출산, 돌봄, 고령화, 1인가구, 일자리 등) 이렇게! 등의 내용으로 학생들의 시선에서 바라본 포천의 모습과 앞으로의 발전 방향에 대한 다양한 제안이 있었다.

이미경 일동고등학교장은 “학생들이 포천시 인구정책에 관심을 갖게 되는 계기가 되었다. 미래의 포천시민으로서 자부심을 가질 수 있는 좋은 기회였다.”고 전했다.

백영현 포천시장은 “학업으로 바쁜 와중이 이렇게 토론회에 참석해주신 학생 여러분께 진심으로 감사하다.”면서 “미래세대의 주역인 우리 청소년들의 포천 발전을 위한 다양한 목소리를 듣는 소통의 자리를 계속해서 마련하겠다.”고 말했다.
