[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 20일 양주시는 육아종합지원센터에서 제1기 양주시 아동참여위원회 연간 활동을 마무리하며 아동친화도시 조성을 위한 정책보고회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 보고회는 성열원 문화복지국장과 안순덕 시의원, 최병운 동두천양주교육지원청 교육과장, 아동참여위원 등 총 20여명이 참석한 가운데 내빈 축사, 축하영상 상영, 제1기 아동참여위원회의 연간활동보고, 아동친화도시 조성을 위한 정책 제안, 원데이 클래스 등의 순으로 진행했으며, 이날 아동참여위원회는 제1기 아동참여위원회의 연간 활동성과 보고를 마친 후 5개 조별로 발굴한 아동친화 정책들에 대해 문제점과 정책 제안, 기대효과 등을 발표했다고 전했다. 

조별로 제시한 아동친화적 정책을 살펴보면 다양한 체험시설, 학생들이 주도하는 교육, 공부에서 벗어나 취미와 진로에 도움이 되는 프로그램, 휴식공간 등 아동을 위한 문화센터 내 시설물 조성, 청소년을 대상으로 관내 사회단체나 시설 등을 연계해 봉사활동을 지원해주는 청소년 지역사회봉사 커넥션 센터 설립, 청소년 문화시설 및 시설 내 프로그램 확충‧보완, 청소년 문화시설을 한눈에 모아 볼 수 있는 앱 개발, 청소년증 혜택 확대 등 청소년 여가 문화생활 지원, 학교에서 청소년이 할 수 있는 활동을 찾아 적극적인 학생을 추천받아 활동 우수상을 수여하는 청소년 활동 우수상 제정, 흡연 예방 포스터 제작 및 게시, 금연 영상 콘테스트 개최, 청소년 금연 지원 시설 설치, 편의점 담배 매대 가림막 설치 등 청소년 흡연예방 방안 등이라고 했다.

양주시는 아동친화 정책연구 역량 강화를 위해 아동참여위원회에서 제시한 아동·청소년 진흥정책에 대해 면밀한 검토를 거쳐 향후 아동정책 수립, 심의, 조정 시 적극 반영해 나갈 예정이라고 했다.
