[김현우 기자 = 양주] 양주시가 경기도 주관 ‘2022년 시군종합평가’에서 6년 연속 우수기관에 선정됐다. 

이에 대해 양주시는 기관 표창과 함께 1억원의 재정 인센티브를 받게 됐으며, 올해 시군종합평가는 국민이 주인인 정부, 더불어 잘사는 경제, 내 삶을 책임지는 국가, 고르게 발전하는 지역, 평화와 번영의 한반도, 도정 주요 시책 등 ‘주요 정책분야’의 89개 지표에 대해 이뤄졌다.

양주시는 10개 시·군이 포함된 2그룹에서 총점 97.82점을 받아 하남시와 함께 장려상을 수상했으며, 연초부터 시군종합평가 총괄 대응계획을 수립해 구체적이고 명확한 목표를 설정하고 지표별 실적보고회, 추진상황 보고회, 담당자 일대일 맞춤형 컨설팅 등 지속적인 관리로 6년 연속 시군종합평가 우수기관으로 선정되는 성과를 거뒀다.

양주시 관계자는 “시군종합평가는 지자체의 종합적 행정역량에 대한 평가로 각 시군의 경쟁이 매우 치열해 어느 한 분야만 뛰어나서는 우수 지자체로 선정될 수 없다”며 “6년 연속 우수 시군에 선정될 수 있던 것은 무엇보다 각자 맡은바 업무에 최선을 다하는 일 천여명의 양주시 공직자가 있었기에 가능했다”고 말했다.

한편, 경기도 시군종합평가는 국정·도정의 주요 시책지표를 통해 행정서비스를 평가하는 가장 객관적이고 공신력 있는 평가 중 하나로 매년 도내 31개 시·군을 인구 규모별 3개 그룹으로 분류해 정량평가와 함께 정성평가를 종합적으로 측정하는 평가 제도이다.
