[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 2월 4일 포천시가 ‘2021년 지방자치단체 생산성 대상’에서 우수기관으로 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

행정안전부가 주최하고 한국생산성본부가 주관하는 생산성지수 측정부문에 총 171개 지자체가 응모해 15개 자치단체가 우수 지자체로 선정됐으며, 포천시는 ‘기량향상’ 부문에서 장려를 수상했다고 전했다.

이번 생산성 대상은 지역경제 역량 등 7개 분야, 17개의 객관적 통계지표를 통해 지방자치단체의 종합적 수준을 측정한 것으로 주민 삶의 질 및 공공서비스 향상을 위한 시의 노력과 역량이 전년 대비 향상됐다는 반증으로 그 의미가 크다고 했다.

포천시시 관계자는 “이번 수상을 통해 우리 포천시가 지방자치단체 중에서 경쟁력이 충분하다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다.”며, “앞으로도 더욱 살기 좋은 도시로 발전할 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다.”라고 말했다.

한편 ‘지방자치단체 생산성 대상’은 지방자치단체의 경쟁력 강화를 위해 2011년부터 지자체의 종합적인 내부 행정역량을 평가하고 있다고 밝혔다.
