신청 자격은 공고일 현재 소흘읍에 주민등록을 두고 상시 거주하거나 사업장에 종사하는 자로, 봉사정신이 투철하고 주민자치위원회의 운영에 관심과 열의가 있는 주민이면 누구나 신청 가능하다고 전했다. 

신청 서식은 소흘읍 행정복지센터에 직접 방문하거나 포천시 홈페이지 공고란에서 확인 가능하며, 서류접수 후 오는 11월 중 선정위원회의 공정한 심사를 거쳐 최종 선발된다고 했다.

최기진 소흘읍장은 “향후 자치기능이 강화되는 주민자치회로의 전환에 대비해 주민이 직접 참여하는 자체 추진사업을 더욱 강화해 나갈 예정”이라며 “지역발전에 대한 확고한 신념과 책임감으로 적극 활동할 수 있는 주민들의 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁드린다.”라고 말했다.

한편, 소흘읍 주민자치위원회는 현재 22명의 위원이 위촉돼 주민자치센터 문화강좌 운영을 주요사업으로 성인문해교육 등 평생교육 기능을 수행하고 있으며, 코로나19 상황속에서도 기후위기 대응 친환경 실천운동, 마을환경가꾸기, 불우이웃돕기 등 활발한 활동을 전개하고 있다고 밝혔다.
