이번 워크숍은 문화관광해설사 활동이 활발한 백제문화도시 중 세 곳을 방문하여 해설기법, 해설사 활동 여건 등에 대한 벤치마킹과, ‘마음을 움직이는 감성 스피치’, ‘공주풀꽃문학관의 나태주 시인 특강’ 등으로 진행된다고 했다. 

평창군 문화관광해설사는 이효석문학관, 월정사, 평창올림픽기념관 등 8개소에서 23명이 활동 중이며, 문화관광자원에 대한 지식 전달 뿐만 아니라 바람직한 관람 예절과 건전한 관광문화 활동을 유도하고 문화재를 비롯한 주변 환경을 보호하는 역할을 수행하고 있으며, 특히 탐방도시의 우수사례를 즉시 적용할 수 있도록 사찰, 문학관, 박물관 등 평창군 문화관광해설사 배치장소와 동일한 유형의 관광지를 집중적으로 탐방함으로써 워크숍의 효과를 높인다는 계획이라고 했다.
