[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 11월 25일 포천시는 코로나19로 장기간 휴관했던 한탄강 세계지질공원센터 내 체험시설을 정부의 단계적 일상회복 지침에 따라 재개관하며 본격 운영한다고 밝혔다.

한탄강 세계지질공원센터는 우리나라 유일의 지질공원 테마 박물관으로, 어렵게 느낄 수 있는 지질과 지질공원에 대해 쉽게 체험하고 배울 수 있다고 했다.

체험시설로는 지질관, 역사문화관, 지질공원관 등 상설전시관과 어린이지질생태체험관, 야외생태놀이터, 한탄강 협곡 4D 영상관 등이 있으며, 체험프로그램은 ‘알록달록 나만의 지질케이크 만들기’, ‘현무암팔찌 만들기’, ‘현무암 화분 만들기’ 등을 운영하고 있다고 전했다.

‘알록달록 나만의 지질케이크 만들기’는 한탄강을 형성하고 있는 용암대지와 주상절리 협곡을 케이크로 만드는 체험으로, 지질학적 특수성을 쉽고 재미있게 배울 수 있고, 천연재료를 사용해 직접 만들 수 있어 인기있다고 했다.
