[남상훈 기자 = 의정부시] 31일 김동근 의정부시장은 이태원 사고 관련 긴급대책회의를 개최해 사고 사망자에 대한 장례절차 지원 및 의정부시 및 경기도 대응방안에 대한 사항을 점검했다고 밝혔다.

31일 9시 의정부시 사망자는 총 3명으로 파악됐다. 경기도의료원 의정부병원에 1명, 의정부 을지대병원에 2명이 안치 중이다.

회의는 사고 피해자에 대한 애도의 묵념으로 시작했다. 의정부시는 시 차원에서 사고 사망자에 대한 장례 절차가 신속히 이루어 질 수 있도록 지원에 만전을 기할 예정이다. 

또한 각종 행사·축제를 자제하고 안전관리 철저, 국가애도기간 중 조기 게양, 근조 리본 착용 등에 대해서 논의했다.

김동근 의정부시장은 “이태원 압사 사고는 다시는 일어나서는 안 될 참혹한 사고이며, 피해자 및 유족께 할 수 있는 모든 지원을 아끼지 말고, 신속한 현황 파악을 통해 각종 대응에 철저를 기하기 바란다”고 강조했다.
