[안종욱 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 1월 21일 가평군 가평읍은 세계평화여성연합회원들이 관내 어려운 이웃을 돕고자 회원 일동이 정성을 모아 컵라면 125박스를 기탁했다고 밝혔다.

세계 평화 여성 연합은 1992년 한국에서 창립된 이래로 전세계 120여 국가에 지부를 두고 국경을 넘어 국제적인 구호, 나눔, 통일 ,협력, 네트워크사업을 진행하고 있으며, 이날 기탁된 성품은 기초수급자, 차상위계층 등 관내 취약계층에게 배분될 예정이라고 했다.

이순영 가평군지부장은 “코로나 여파로 어려운 이웃에게 나눔의 기회가 줄어 든 이때, 회원들 각자가 한마음으로 이웃을 돕는데 동참하게 되어 마음이 뿌듯하고 감사하다. 모두가 따뜻한 겨울을 보내길 바란다.”라고 기탁 소감을 전했다. 

임상호 가평읍장은 “추운 날씨에 돌봄의 손길이 필요한 곳에 전달하여 지역사회의 따뜻한 온기를 느낄 수 있도록 힘쓰겠다. 생업을 뒤로하고 뜻깊은 일을 함께 해줘서 감사하다.” 라며 감사를 전했다.
