이번 평가는 여성가족부 산하 전국 500여개의 생활권 청소년수련시설(청소년수련관, 청소년문화의집, 청소년특화시설)을 대상으로 최근 2년간 운영 및 관리, 청소년 이용 및 참여, 청소년활동 프로그램, 인사 및 조직, 시설기준 및 안전, 대외 협력 및 홍보, 총 7개의 영역에서 최우수, 우수, 적정, 미흡, 매우미흡 등 총 5단계의 등급으로 진행됐다고 했다.

평가결과 청소년동아리 및 청소년운영위원회를 통한 청소년들의 의견을 시설운영에 적극 반영하는 등 청소년들의 눈높이에 맞는 시설운영부문과 코로나 상황에도 다양한 비대면 체험프로그램을 시행하여 프로그램 운영을 위한 발전노력이 높이 평가되어 우수한 성적을 거두었다고 했다. 

앞으로도 강릉시는 청소년수련시설 운영 및 청소년공간 확충사업의 지속적 추진을 통하여 관내 청소년들에게 건전한 여가 선용의 기회를 확대하고 다양한 동아리 활동을 활성화하여 우리 지역의 건강한 청소년육성을 위해 꾸준히 지원할 방침이라고 전했다.
