녹물 없는 우리 집 수도관 개량지원 사업은 건축된 지 20년 이상 경과한 노후 주택 중 옥내급수관, 공용배관이 아연도강관 등 비내식성 자재로 시공되어 내부 부식으로 녹물이 나와 일상생활에 불편을 겪고 있는 수용가에게 깨끗한 수돗물 공급을 목적으로, 기존에 신청 제외 대상이었던 의무관리대상 공동주택의 공용배관에 대한 지원 범위를 2020.8.12. 시행규칙을 개정하여 확대 실시하고 있으며, 2021.1.14. 경기도 조례 제정 및 지침 개정에 따라 지원 비율 및 지원 금액을 상향하는 내용으로 21.5.26 의정부시 수도 급수 조례 시행규칙 개정을 완료하여 상수도관 개량 주택 공사비의 일부를 지원할 계획이라고 말했다.

지원 금액은 세대별 최대 지원금 옥내급수관 150만 원, 공용배관 50만 원이내에서 주택면적에 따라 차등 지원하며 기초생활수급자 및 차상위계층 소유주택은 최대 지원금 전액을 지원한다고 했다.

2021년 시행규칙 개정 이후 세대별 최대 지원금은 옥내급수관은 180만 원으로, 공용배관은 최대 60만 원으로 상향하며 주택면적에 따른 지원 비율은 60평방미터 이하는 80%에서 90%로, 85평방미터 이하는 50%에서 80%로 상향되었다. 

지원 절차는 주택 소유자가 관련 서류를 준비하여 의정부시 맑은물사업소 수도과에 방문하여 신청서를 작성하면, 담당 공무원이 채수 및 수질검사를 통해 지원 대상 여부를 선정하여 통보하고, 지원 대상으로 선정된 수용가에서는 주택소유자가 자체적으로 시공업체를 선정하여 공사를 완료하고, 공사 관련 증빙서류를 첨부해 개량비용 지급신청서를 제출하면 공사 준공 여부를 확인한 후 지원금이 지급된다고 했다.
