[서종협 기자 = 태백시] 태백시정신건강복지센터(센터장 정숙경)는 겨울철에 비해 자살률이 증가하는 봄철(3월~5월)을 맞아 자살 고위험시기 집중 관리하고 잠재적 위험군 발굴에 집중할 계획이라고 밝혔다. 

이에 태백시정신건강복지센터에서는 정신 상담 등 도움이 필요할 때 정신건강서비스를 받을 수 있도록 자살 빈발 지역과 유동 인구가 많은 지역에 현수막 13개 게시 및 공동주택 관리비 고지서, 지역 정보지, SNS 등을 통해 집중적으로 홍보하고 있다. 더불어 센터에 등록된 자살 고위험군에 대한 집중 관리와 주 1회 ’탄탄동행버스‘를 활용한 이동 상담실을 운영할 계획이다.

또한 지난 25일 장성응급처치 전문의용소방대와 업무협약을 맺고 장성시장 일대에서 자살예방 홍보 및 거리 캠페인을 실시했다.

정숙경 센터장은 “자살 고위험시기 집중 홍보를 통해 삶의 위기 상황에 처한 지역주민에게 적절한 도움을 제공하고, 위기에서 벗어날 수 있도록 함으로써 자살예방 도모를 기대해 본다”라고 전했다.
