그랜드피아노 모양을 형상화하여 설계한 어린이음악놀이터는 음악을 주요 테마로 하여 체험시설물을 구성하였으며 아이들의 정서와 창의력발달에 도움을 주고자 했고, 300㎡의 실외놀이시설과 연면적 999㎡의 실내놀이체험시설로 조성하였으며 사업비는 국·도비 포함 44억원이 투입됐다고 했다.

이번 음악놀이터 마련을 통하여 어린이들에게 다양한 놀이체험을 접할 수 있는 환경을 제공하고 육아 부담을 일부 해소시켜 줄 것으로 기대되며, 또한, 음악역1939와 철길공원 사이에 위치하여 지역주민과 함께 호흡하며 성장하는 가평군 음악도시의 위상이 한층 견고해 질 것으로 보인다고 했다.
