[서종협 기자 = 태백시] 태백시(시장 이상호)는 고터실 핵심광물 산학연 혁신 기술단지(이하 고터실 산업단지)에 대한 합동 설명회를 오는 4월 4일 철암동 행정복지센터에서 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이상호 태백시장은 “고터실 산업단지 조성을 통해 우수기업을 유치하고, 관내 산업‧농공단지 활성화를 통해 2025년 태백시 경제 재도약을 반드시 이뤄내겠다”라며 고터실 산업단지 조성에 대한 기대감과 각오를 내비쳤다.

한편, 고터실 산업단지는 지난 2021년 3월 지방재정 중앙투자사업 승인 및 같은 해 5월 산업단지 조성사업 위‧수탁 업무협약을 체결하며 순조로운 시작을 알렸다. 시는 오는 8월까지 손실보상협의를 진행하고, 강원도 산업단지 심의위원회로부터 승인 고시를 받으면 올해 말 공사 착공까지 속도감 있게 진행한다는 방침이다. 

고터실 산업단지는 철암동 일원에 총 사업비 382억 원을 들여 철암동 225-1번지 일원 21만 5,035㎡에 2024년까지 조성되어 광물자원을 활용한 광물가공 및 광물자원 특화기업이 들어설 예정이다. 관련하여 시는 지난해 SK에코플랜트와 STX 2개 기업과 업무협약 맺었다.
