[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 29일 동두천시는 생연2동·중앙동 도시재생 주민협의체 주거지정비분과에서 생연동 일원의 한 골목길 담장개선 봉사활동을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

주거지정비분과는 생연2동·중앙동의 주민 15명으로 구성되어 있으며, 원도심 주거지정비를 목적으로 다양한 활동을 전개하고 있는 도시재생주민협의체 소속 분과라고 했다.

이번 골목길 담장개선 봉사활동은 주거지정비분과 구성원 및 행복마을관리소 직원, 지역환경 개선에 뜻있는 주민협의체 회원들이 참여하고 의견을 나누어 기획한 것으로, 골목공간에 어울리는 밝은 색상으로 채색하여 벽면을 장식했으며, 또한 주거지정비분과는 지난 10월 20일에도 도시재생지원센터와 연계해 원도심 환경개선 활동을 진행해 오랜 시간 쓰레기 무단투기로 황폐해진 장소를 도심 속 작은 정원으로 재탄생시켜서 마을에 새로운 기운을 불어넣었다는 평을 받았다고 전했다.
