예산편성 과정에 시민이 함께 참여해 지방재정 운영의 건전성, 투명성, 공정성을 높이기 위한 주민참여예산사업 공모는 양주시에 거주하는 시민뿐만 아니라 관내 직장 또는 학교를 다니는 사람은 누구나 제안할 수 있으며, 올해는 총액 20억 원 이내 규모에 제한 없이 주민 생활불편, 복지향상, 안전, 환경개선 등 시민의 삶의 질 향상과 관련된 모든 분야에 걸쳐 정책사업 공모 신청을 받는다고 했다.
