[김일중 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 11월 9일 동두천시종합자원봉사센터는 탄소중립 실천 참여자 100명을 대상으로 탄소중립 실천과 올바른 분리배출을 위한 교육을 비대면으로 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 경기도자원봉사센터 지원사업인 ‘탄소중립 실천 챌린지’ 프로그램의 일환으로 쓰레기박사로 불리는 자원순환사회경제연구소 홍수열 소장의 ‘그건 쓰레기가 아니라고요’ 주제로 진행됐다고 했다.

이날 참여자들은 일회용품 사용량 증가에 따른 쓰레기 문제와 환경오염, 기후위기 심각성에 전적으로 공감하였으며, 평소 자세히 몰랐던 분리배출 방법에 대해 정확하게 배우는 시간을 가졌다고 전했다.

홍수열 소장은 “2050 탄소중립 실현을 위해 함께 뜻을 모아 일상생활 속에서 최선을 다해 탄소중립에 참여한 분들에게 감사를 표하고 앞으로도 자원순환의 가치와 올바른 분리배출 방법을 적극 홍보해주실 것을 당부한다”고 밝혔다.
