[김일웅 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 북부지방산림청은 30일 탄소중립의 의미와 체계적인 산림교육을 청소년에게 제공하기 위해 추진 중인 “2022년 청소년 탄소중립 산림교육 위탁사업”의 중간보고회를 육민관중학교에서 개최했다고 밝혔다.

북부지방산림청은 지난 2012년부터 주5일제 수업 시행에 맞춰 주말산림학교를 운영하는 등 매년 청소년 교육 환경 변화에 적극 대응하여 산림교육 프로그램을 개발, 추진해왔다.

올해 7월부터는 2016년부터 전면 도입된 중학교 자유학기제에 맞춰 산림탄소중립의 이해, 진로 탐색 등 산림교육 프로그램을 위탁 개발해 서울·인천·경기·강원영서지역 중학생을 대상으로 도시숲, 학교숲 등의 가치에 대해 교육을 시행하고 있다.

이번 위탁사업 중간보고회에서는 관련분야 전문가를 초청하여 탄소중립 산림교육 프로그램 운영의 추진 경과와 향후 추진 방향 등을 논의했다.
