[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 9일, 동두천시자원봉사센터는 경기도자원봉사센터 시·군 지원사업 1차 지역맞춤형 사업 비대면 자원봉사 ‘가족의 탄생, 어르신 생신 축하키트 전달’ 활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

4월부터 올해 10월까지 7개월간 생일을 맞은 취약계층 80가구를 선정하여 자원봉사단체 2곳에서 생신 케이크, 미역국, 밑반찬, 과일 등을 만들어 포장하여 전달하는 활동으로, 이번 첫 활동은 평화로 RCY청소년과 지도자 7명이 참여하여 4월에 생신을 맞은 어르신 6분께 생신키트를 전달하고 축하했다고 전했다.

임현숙 RCY지도자는 “코로나19로 우울감에 빠져 있는 취약계층 독거 어르신께서 생신날이라도 기쁘고 행복한 날을 보낼 수 있었으면 좋겠다”면서 “청소년들이 어르신을 공경하는 마음을 담아 직접 요리를 하고 전달하면서 올바르고 성숙한 지역사회 일꾼으로 자라는데 큰 도움이 되고 있는 것 같아 앞으로도 좋은 활동으로 이어갈 수 있도록 더욱 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
