[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 강릉시가 올해 탄소중립 친환경 도시로 나아가기 위한 본격적인 준비를 시작했다고 밝혔다.

정부의 2050 탄소중립 국가계획, 강원도의 2040 탄소중립 추진 전략에 맞춰 강릉시도 올해 안에「온실가스 감축 및 기후변화 적응을 위한 종합계획」을 수립하여 탄소중립 정책을 체계적으로 추진할 예정이라고 했다.

그 시작점인 스마트 그린도시 사업은 총사업비 100억이 투자되는 사업으로, 주민센터, 도서관, 관광지 등 관내 주요 지점에 실·내외 환경 측정기를 설치하여 대기환경플랫폼을 구축하고, 공기정화, 냉·난방 시설이 갖춰진 스마트 쉘터 14개를 설치하여 시민 및 관광객들이 미세먼지, 폭염, 혹한 등 기후변화에 대응할 수 있는 스마트 통합 환경 플랫폼을 구축한다고 했다.

장현저수지와 경포습지 생태복원 및 옥가로 테마거리에 공기정화 수목을 식재하여, 장현저수지~월화거리~경포습지로 이어지는 에코로드 조성에 따라 온실가스 배출량을 줄이고 지역주민과는 거버넌스 구축 및 리빙랩을 통해 시민 중심의 스마트 그린도시를 만들 것으로 기대하고 있다고 했다.
