[장선희 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 9월 16일, 의정부시 신곡2동 지역사회보장협의체는 추석 명절을 맞아 ‘추석 중장년 독거가구 위문 원정대’ 특화사업을 진행하였다고 밝혔다.

이번 특화사업은 근로능력이 없는 중장년 독거 취약계층 40가구에 원정대원들이 직접 포장한 송편과 카놀라유·올리고당·스팸 등의 선물 세트를 위문 전달하는 행사였고, 신곡2동 지역사회보장협의체는 복지사각 위기가구를 발굴·지원하는 등 지역사회 복지공동체성 회복을 위해 쉼 없는 활동을 전개하며 민·관협력의 주도적 역할을 담당하고 있는 법정단체라고 했다. 

이윤분 협의체 위원장은 “이번 원정대 사업은 질병과 장애 등으로 일할 수도 없고 외롭게 살아가시는 취약가구의 중장년 독거인들을 위로하고 추석 명절을 조금이나마 따뜻한 마음으로 보내시길 바라는 마음에서 추진되었다”고 말했다.

김상래 신곡2동장은 “더불어 사는 지역사회복지 공동체성 회복을 위해 열성을 다해 활동하고 계시는 협의체 위원장님과 위원들께 감사드린다”며 “협의체의 뜻깊은 활동 덕분에 중장년 독거인들이 추석을 흐뭇한 마음으로 맞이하게 되었다”고 밝혔다.
