코로나19 방역지침 완화 및 단계적 일상 회복 시행에 맞춰 그간 실내에서 스마트폰이나 컴퓨터를 사용하는 시간이 긴 아동의 오감을 자극할 수 있는 토피어리, 테라리움 등 두 종류의 원예체험 활동과 더불어 재능기부자로 강의를 진행한 (사)한국마스터가드너 의정부지부 소속 마스터가드너들의 안내로 조경사, 원예치료사, 플로리스트, 전문 강사 등이 하는 일에 대한 설명이 곁들여져 원예와 관련된 직업을 미리 탐색해볼 수 있는 기회도 함께 제공됐다고 했다.

이번 활동에 체험한 한 아동은 “친구들과 함께 모여 식물로 귀여운 동물을 만들고 여러 색깔의 부드러운 모래와 다육식물을 유리병에 넣어 나만의 작은 정원도 만들어볼 수 있어 좋았다”며 “꽃과 나무를 아름답게 가꾸는 정원사처럼 사랑을 듬뿍 주어 잘 키울 것”이라고 말했다.
