[장선희 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 5월 7일 의정부시 신곡2동 지역사회보장협의체는 ‘어버이 효(孝) 원정대’특화사업을 진행했다고 밝혔다.

이번 특화사업은 자녀가 없어서 어버이날을 더 외롭고 힘들게 보내시게 되는 지역사회 내 저소득 독거노인 30가구에 카네이션 화분, 롤케이크, 방역 마스크 등을 위문 전달하는 행사였다고 했다.

동 지역사회보장협의체는 민·관협력 법정단체로 복지사각 위기가구를 발굴·지원하는 등 지역사회 복지공동체성 회복을 위해 쉼 없는 활동을 전개하고 있다고 밝혔다. 

이윤분 협의체 위원장은 “이번 사업은 더불어 사는 지역사회 조성을 위해 추진되었으며, 어버이날을 맞아 힘들게 보내시는 어르신들이 조금이나마 위로를 받고 힘을 내서 건강하게 생활해 나가시길 바란다”고 밝혔다.

김상래 신곡2동장은 “지역사회복지 공동체성 회복을 위해 열성을 다해 활동하고 계시는 협의체 위원장님과 위원들께 감사드린다”며 “공공영역에서도 주민들이 행복한 마을복지를 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
