[김현우 기자 = 경기북부/강원] 지난 14일 대한적십자사 포천지구회 가산봉사회는 추석 명절을 앞두고 도움이 필요한 취약계층을 위한 추석 맞이 명절 음식 나눔 행사를 펼쳤다고 밝혔다.

가산봉사회는 회원들의 자발적인 후원을 통해 송편, 물김치 등을 만들었으며, 꾸준히 보살펴 온 이웃 50여 가정에 전하며 훈훈한 정을 나눴다고 했다.

특히, 이번 나눔 행사는 지역의 고독사를 예방하고 홀몸 어르신의 정서적 지지를 위해 가산봉사회 회원과 1대 1일 매칭으로 매주 1회 이상 안부 확인을 해왔던 홀몸 어르신도 포함되어 있다고 했다.

안부 전화를 받고 있는 한 어르신은 “몇 번 전화하다 말겠지라는 생각을 했지만 2년 가까이 매주 연락을 받으며 봉사회의 진심을 느낄 수 있었다.”라며 감사함을 표했다. 

정영자 회장은 “오늘 준비한 음식이 따뜻한 명절을 보내는데 조금이나마 보탬이 되길 바란다.”라며 “앞으로도 도움이 필요한 이웃과 어려움을 나누며 봉사하는 적십자가 되겠다.”라고 말했다.

한편, 대한적십자사 가산봉사회는 화재 등 재난 시 구호품 지원뿐만 아니라 각종 지역행사 및 봉사활동에 참여하고 있으며, 복지 사각지대에 놓인 대상자를 결연대상으로 선정하여 물품 지원을 하는 등 꾸준한 나눔 활동을 펼치고 있다고 전했다.
