[김현우 기자 = 경기북부] 지난 17일 포천시 가산면행정복지센터는 국제 구호개발 NGO 단체인 (사)월드프렌즈로부터 5만원 상당의 식품꾸러미 20개와 400만원 상당의 후원금을 전달받았다고 밝혔다. 

식품꾸러미와 생활비는 (사)월드프렌즈가 포털사이트 네이버 기부 프로그램 해피빈을 통해 모금한 후원금으로 마련됐다고 전했다.

후원처인 (사)월드프렌즈는 가난과 질병, 전쟁과 굶주림 등으로 생존 위험에 노출된 지구촌 어린이들에게 실질적인 나눔이 실천될 수 있도록 구호 활동을 펼치는 등 따뜻한 나눔을 지속적으로 실천하고 있다고 했다.

(사)월드프렌즈 황의진 팀장은 “코로나19로 외부활동이 어렵고 심리적으로 불안한 요즘이지만 소액기부자들의 정성으로 마련된 식사와 후원금을 통해 어르신들의 우울감 해소와 정서적 지지에 도움이 되었으면 좋겠다.”라고 말했다. 

가산면 이영구 면장은 “어려운 시기에 소중한 물품을 기탁해 주신 (사)월드프렌즈에 감사드리며, 따뜻한 온정이 지역의 어렵고 힘든 이웃들에게 잘 전달될 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”고 말했다.
